Blue Jeans for Beamish Boy

I have been very remiss with my blogging.....
Forgive me?
Thank you.

Hugo had a birthday, turned 16 and attained his learners permit for driving.
It is awesome, I don't like driving so it suits me to be chauffeured.
For his birthday her requested the latest Matthew Riley and some new jeans.
Just like his old jeans

Easy!
Pale denim as requested
White stitching as requested

White piping on the pockets
And some pretty lawn facings to make sewing fun for me!
And the fit?

He is happy!
Happy Birthday Beamish Boy!

  3. Happy 16th to Hugo! Those jeans are amazing - I get exhausted just looking at all that top-stitching and bar tacks. Beautiful work. I guess eventually these kids stop growing and if you sew them something, it might last more than one season?!

    1. I am pretty lucky with Hugo, if I make his trousers with long legs he gets a few seasons from them.
      Lidida, however.....
Thank you Jane. I still love that he is not scared of a good floral!

    1. Thank you Sharon. He is a fine young man.
I actually enjoy sewing these. There is less fabric then his trousers. They always seem endless!

  6. Happy birthday to the 16 year old! Incredibly well constructed jeans yet again!!!
Thanks for mentioning that author, I'd never heard of him before. I am going to be checking out some of his books at our library for my teen son who always seems to run out of books to read.

    1. Thank you Rachel.
I started reading him first (Ice Station) but there was a bit too much action for me, but a good read, never less.
A young author too. So many more books we hope!

I love those jeans - the details are so exquisite (who cares about store-bought jeans when you can have these. Truly luxurious!!)

  9. These are just fantastic. I've been going back over the original pair that you made - the details are perfect. By the time Joe is 16, maybe I'll be as good at sewing as you are, Nicole! Hey, we all have dreams. :-)

  11. Thank you Rachel.
Hugo is a big fan. I was saddened to read that Matthew Riley's young wife died last year. I wonder if he will keep writing or whether he will take a new direction?
    A very talented young man.
